Political distribution: Food secy summoned to court on 30th

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court has summoned the Food Secretary on April 30 on a petition alleging that he distributed gunny bags as political favours for the upcoming wheat harvest. Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan issued the order on a petition filed by Talat Mahmood, a farmer from Nankana Sahib. The petitioner submitted that gunny bags were distributed on political grounds. He said bags were delivered to MPAs and MNAs who were distributing them among farmers who showed allegiance to their parties. He prayed the court to direct the secretary to ensure provision of bags to all farmers and to refrain from nepotism.
