Animal rescue: Two men arrested for deer theft
Men were carrying three deers in the trunk of their car.
BAHAWALPUR:
Two men were arrested on Monday near Fort Abbas in Cholistan for deer theft. Bahawalpur Wildlife Special Squad Incharge Mohammad Ameen Tahir told The Express Tribune they had received a tip about two carrying three deer in the trunk of their car. He said a wildlife department team chased the car and managed to arrest Fort Abbas residents Badar Munir and Faiz. He said, “We recovered three deer, an adult female, an adult male and a 6-month old fawn.” He said the two men were known poachers already and wanted for deer theft. He said they had been sent on 14-day judicial remand under the Punjab Wildlife Act 1974.
