Mohammad Sami bagged a five-wicket haul to put Port Qasim in the driving seat on the opening day of their Patron’s Trophy Grade-II semi-final against Omar Associates. Port Qasim opted to bowl as Sami destroyed the Omar Associates top order with rain coming to a late rescue. The batting side were 140 for nine off 34.1 at close as Prince Abbas top-scored with 30 while wicket-keeper batsman Waqar Ali Syed was unbeaten on 24. In the other semi-final, PTV were all out for 286 before KESC scored seven for one.
