Acid attack: Burglars throw acid on policemen in Punjab

HAROONABAD: Burglars threw acid on seven policemen during a burglary on Thursday, seriously injuring them, in a shop in Haroonabad, Express News reported.

Unidentified men entered a shop with intent of burglary after putting a pall to cover it in Chaman Bazar area of Haroonabad, upon which the shopkeeper alerted the police.

Upon receiving the alert, two police mobile vans reached the scene.

When the shopkeeper and police opened the store, the burglars inside threw acid on them, seriously injuring sub inspector Maqsood Saleem, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Zafar Iqbal and five other policemen.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
