Targeted action: Four men killed, three target killers arrested

Suspects were identified as Bilal alias Billa, Hussain alias Kala and Habibullah alias Nafsiati.

A 23-year-old man from Gilgit-Baltistan was gunned down on Thursday, said the Taimuria police. They claim that he was doing his masters at Federal Urdu University in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and lived in a hostel.


He was having lunch near his hostel in Sector 15 Buffer Zone, Nagan Chowrangi when the incident took place and was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The initial investigation suggested that he was killed over personal enmity. Tension gripped Ancholi, Jaffar Tayar Society, Rizvia and Abbas Town. A protest was also held at Numaish Chowrangi against the murder. Rangers were sent immediately to take control of the situation.

In an unrelated incident, a 36-year-old man identified as Haji Waliur Rehman was found dead in Sultanabad, said the Manghopir police. They claim that he was from Swat. According to SHO Ghulam Rasool Rajper, Rehman had eloped last year and was killed over a family dispute. The bodies of two unidentified men were found in Gharibabad and Mai Kolachi.

The Special Investigation Unit chief SSP Shahjahan Khan said that the suspects were identified as Bilal alias Billa, Hussain alias Kala and Habibullah alias Nafsiati. He added that Kala and Billa were brothers.
