Missing prisoner: Another application filed in Supreme Court
The petitioner stated Jamshed Raza was allegedly abducted by the officials of secret agencies from Bhawalpur Jail.
ISLAMABAD:
Another application was filed in the Supreme Court (SC) for the recovery of a missing prisoner on Wednesday.
The petitioner alleged that Jamshed Raza, age 53 was abducted by the officials of secret agencies from Bhawalpur Jail.
Tariq Asad, the counsel for Raza’s relatives prayed to the court to take up this issue along with the 11 missing prisoners’ case of Adiala Jail as the matter was similar in nature.
Raza was one of the suspects in a case regarding the attempt to murder former president Pervez Musharraf.
In the petition, Asad said that a weak FIR was registered for the abduction and the culprits’ names were not included in it. The petition further stated that Raza was acquitted of all charges levelled against him but was abducted outside the jail by officials of secret agencies.
