LAHORE:

A consumer court on Friday issued a notice, for March 26, to Saeed Buksh (Pvt) Limited in a suit seeking damages for not installing lights in a house a year after the order was placed.

Petitioner Aurangzeb Feroz said that a company representative, had approached him in April 2011, and told him about a new lighting system. The respondent submitted his quotation to the complainant on April 5, and both parties agreed on a price of Rs1.5 million. Feroz said he made the payment through a cheque.

The company, he said, started installing the system in April 2011 but was yet to complete the installation. He prayed the court to direct the respondent to pay back the amount he had paid for the system, his lawyer’s fee of Rs100,000, filing expenses of Rs10,000, and another Rs1 million in damages.

Asim Khawaja, the company’s regional manager, said that he was not aware that a suit had been filed. However, he said that the petitioner will be reimbursed if his complaint turned out to be true.
