Students of a private school enthralled audience members with a variety of plays during “Drama Night” at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC), said a press release issued by the RAC on Wednesday.

The show, organised by students of Headway Escuela in connection with the International Theatre Day, opened with “Golden Goose”, a collection of folk tales.

The students also performed “Beauty is the Beast”, a slightly different and humorous interpretation of the fairytale.

A scene from Shakespearean tragedy “Julius Caesar”, about a wide range of human emotions from love, friendship and their extremes eventually culminating in murder, was presented with a modern interpretation.

The play “Chacha Chakkan Banaras Chalay”, based on the popular comic character in Urdu literature, combined laughter, comedy and wonderful performances enacted by children of different classes.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb commended Headway Escuela on ensuring that all its students participated to become confident and creative members of society.
