LAKKI MARWAT: MNA Humayun Saifullah Khan has demanded the government to provide Rs340 million as additional funds for the construction of Kurram Tangi Dam. He termed the Rs100 million funds allocated for the project “peanuts”, adding that the development of southern districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa depends on the dam’s construction. He said several international monetary institutions have also shown interest in the early completion of the dam. Khan said that besides generating 85-megawatt electricity, the dam will irrigate 362,000 acres of agricultural land and provide potable water to people in the area.
