The Balochistan government has decided to withdraw 28 cases registered against the self-exiled chief of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) Brahamdagh Bugti, who has applied for political asylum in Switzerland.
The decision comes after Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that estranged Baloch nationalists would be allowed to return to Pakistan and join mainstream politics. Bugti has been accused of targeting important national installations such as gas pipelines and power pylons, along with security forces in Dera Bugti and Sui areas.
According to a senior official of the Balochistan’s home department, Sibi division’s commissioner had submitted detailed reports about the cases registered against Brahamdagh.
“The home department had earlier sought details from senior officials from different districts. It is still early. In the initial stage, the department is collecting details about the cases registered against Baloch leaders, and then it will work to withdraw them,” the official said requesting anonymity.
Rehman Malik had earlier said that the government would withdraw cases against Baloch leaders in order to persuade them to return and join negotiations.
However, most nationalist leaders have rejected the offers, terming them insufficient and insignificant for holding meaningful talks. They believe all the cases against them have been fabricated by governments, both past and present.

As long as he is loyal to Pakistan and a well wisher as well. . . then congratulations. He also has a duty to prove his loyalty to Pakistan and should be held accountable. However, this is no time to slaken but it is time to be more alert as there may be some foreign terrorist and their master minds hiding in Balochistan who should be seeked out with a mop up operation. A clean Balochistan will be a peaceful and progressive Balochistan and pride of Pakistan!
Good job, this should have been done a long time ago. If we want to keep Baluchistan as a part of Pakistan we need people like him.
This guy Brahamdagh Bugti is a true gentleman
Gov. should get rid of this separatist movement and sectarian violence, We must put our house in order first to tackle external evil hands
one must distinguish between baloch and baloch sardars like baramgadh who ran militant camps in afganistan to fight with pakistan, he should be issued red notice and justice must be served to him for killing our soilders.
Dr Tribune Moderator ...please publish my last comment @saleem .. its very necessary for all of us to listen and understand each other.. this isnt against any national law this will initiate a healthy debate to understand that many dont know abt balochistan issue ... plz thnx
@saleem this dictating attitude has placed us at this verge of destruction, their is dire need of understanding each others mind and heart, neither crushing them, balochs never opposed pakistan they were as devoted as any other Pakistani u should read history the baloch leaders interaction with jinnah during countries formation struggles, they only oppose this corrupt so called thugs they call them selves devoted establishment and democratic leaders, u better try this like musharaff did.. and u will see the results going more worse.. we should learn to solve issues with peace and dialogue.. think again balochs are born warriors and their determination is needed to be used to save pakistan ... We love Pakistan We hate those who run it....
They are attacking on security forces... and look what our govt is doing!
Dear Govt,
1st do a swat type operation on problematic areas in balochistan, than do such kind of steps... Thanks
Great , what about the families of dozens of jawans who were martyred in cold blood defending national installations. Hopeless in lawless Pakistan ! Better bring them back and hang them, do not worry about Baluchistan separation rumors aired by foreign media and supported by local media. Law should be maintained at all costs. First of all , I do not believe Baluchistan geographically or population wise have anything similar to East Pakistan. Secondly even if similar , it is better to uphold the law rather than keep the country united and run it with jungle law.
