By Hook Or By Crook: Men rob house, shoot police official’s son

The son of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Malir, Yousuf Abbasi, was injured as he tried to thwart a robbery attempt at his house on Tuesday. Irfan Abbasi, 22, was shot once in the leg inside his house in Sindh Muslim Jamaat Society, under the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment. SHO Amanullah Marwat said that three bandits arrived outside the house in a Suzuki Alto, and shot Irfan when he resisted. They escaped after clearing the house of cash and jewelry. Marwat said that Yousuf Abbasi was not present at the time. Police are waiting for the complainant to register a case against the robbers.
