Quetta police claim to have busted a kidnapping ring operating in the Sariab area of the provincial capital after rounding up five accused kidnappers. The police seized arms and stolen vehicles from their possession. Addressing a news conference, Deputy Inspector General Police (Operations) Qazi Abdul Wahid revealed that some policemen involved in motorbike snatching and car lifting were also booked.  Wahid said that police had arrested an employee, identified as Waqas Sarwar, who was a leader of a gang involved in car lifting. The DIG Operations said that during a campaign against illegal arms 62 people were arrested and 59 pistols, 10 Kalashnikovs, 11 rifles and 4,150 rounds were recovered from their possession. Wahid added that police arrested 32 proclaimed offenders, 156 absconders and 215 accused involved in cases of robbery, murder, theft and kidnapping.
