QUETTA: A large number of professors and lecturers staged a protest on Saturday outside Balochistan University, demanding immediate release of kidnapped professor Dost Muhammad Tareen. Armed men abducted Tareen, a professor at the Department of Education in the University of Balochistan, six days ago from Quetta’s Satellite Town. The Academic Staff Association (ASA) of Balochistan University organised the demonstration led by ASA president Professor Kaleemullah Barech and others. They shouted slogans against the government and law-enforcement agencies for their failure to curb incidents of kidnapping for ransom and target killings of teachers. The association warned that they teachers would boycott classes if the kidnapped professor was not freed immediately.
