Cricket: Spin woes are behind us, says Flower
Feels the experience in the subcontinent will prove useful in the team’s tour of Sri Lanka.
LONDON:
England coach Andy Flower is confident that the team will be better prepared to tackle spin when they face Sri Lanka later this month, having learnt valuable lessons during the Test series against Pakistan in the UAE. England had no answer for Pakistan’s prowess in spin as they fell to a 3-0 defeat, though they bounced back in the subsequent One-Day International and Twenty20 legs. Flower feels the experience in the subcontinent will prove useful in the team’s tour of Sri Lanka. “The biggest lesson we have had to learn is how to play against spin,” said Flower. “If we can show what we learned from two months in the UAE, we can expect to do well.”
