Scorecard: 84 complaints redressed

As many as 84 of the 1,122 complaints received by city police in two months were redressed, while cases were registered in 55 and action was underway, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir said on Saturday.


Of the rest, 20 complaints were withdrawn after both parties settled the dispute, 64 for being outside police’s jurisdiction, 161 for not being followed by complainants and eight due to incomplete or wrong details. As many as 107 complaints were found to be baseless. Investigation officer was changed and fresh probe initiated in six complaints and departmental action lodged against policemen for negligence in another six complaints. The remaining 592 complaints were still under investigation.
