MITHI: People from political and nationalist parties launched a demonstration from Islam Kot towards Mithi on Tuesday. They said that their rally is a protest against the government’s refusal to employ citizens from their area in the Thar Coal project and for its slow pace. Islam Kot was deserted as people took part in the 55-kilometre rally, organised by the Megh Adabi and Arbab Ahsanullah’s Social Forum, which was also supported by Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded. Mithi’s traders association announced a strike for today, in anticipation of the protesters’ arrival in the city. Sajid Bajeer
