RAWALPINDI:

With 100 family rooms in Multan Jail nearing completion, the facility will be next provided to the inmates of Adiala Jail. This was said by Provincial Minister for Prisons Malik Muhammad Iqbal Chunner while inaugurating water filtration plants at the jail on Thursday.

He said Public Call Offices would also be set up within the prison to facilitate the inmates. The prisoners are being imparted computer and Islamic education on orders of the chief minister, said Chunner. He added that the inmates are also being given skill-based education so they can learn to financially support themselves legally after they are released.

DIG Prisons Malik Shaukat Feroz also briefed Chunner on the jail’s menu, adding that the newly repaired plant would filter 1,000 gallons of water daily. The repair costs were Rs8 million. PML-N MPA Iftikhar Ahmed said, “The Punjab govt has been providing all the necessary facilities to inmates so they can become useful citizens.”
