Environment: Plantation drive inaugurated

615,000 saplings would be planted in the district during the drive.

RAHIM YAR KHAN: District Coordination Officer Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi on Wednesday inaugurated a tree plantation drive by planting a sapling at Al-Mukhtar Floor and General Mills. Speaking on the occasion, he said 615,000 saplings would be planted in the district during the drive. He said 310,000 of these would be arranged by the Forests Department. The plantation, he said, would be carried out at public institutions, forests, schools and agricultural land. The DCO said the officials concerned had been directed to utilize all available resources to make the plantation drive a success.
