LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Thursday directed the petitioner to further argue maintainability of a petition seeking disqualification of several politicians including Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Nawaz Sharif, Fazlur Rehman, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Farooq Sattar for allegedly conniving to protect their interests in passing the 20th constitutional amendment.

The judge adjourned the hearing for a week.

Petitioner Chaudhry Fakhar had submitted that the politicians had joined hands on a one point agenda of “corruption.” He had requested the court to disqualify all the politicians from holding any public office and direct them to disclose the details of their assets held in Pakistan as well as abroad.
