Unseeded Sania Mirza overcame Anne Keothavong 6-4, 7-5 in the second-round of the Pattaya Open to book a spot in the quarter-finals. The Indian, world number 111, needed one hour and 40 minutes to subdue the giant-killing Briton, who had upset second-seed Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in the opening round. Sania also reached the doubles quarter-finals with Australian partner Anastasia Rodionova after the top-seeded pair crushed the French duo of Iryna Bremond and Caroline 6-0, 6-2 in the first round.
