Corruption case: K-P NAB arrests ex-food inspector

Tariq is accused of being involved in two embezzlement cases.

PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s Khyber-Pakthunkhwa division arrested a former food grain inspector, Jamil Tariq, on Wednesday.

Tariq is accused of being involved in two embezzlement cases. A NAB spokesperson said the accused had entered into a plea bargain in two cases and made payments as per the terms and conditions approved by the court, but wilfully defaulted on the remaining instalments, which amount to Rs 8.3 million.

In total, the embezzlements caused a loss of Rs62.89 million to the national exchequer.
