KARACHI: Hundreds of low-income steel cabin owners in Jamshed and Gulshan towns appealed to the provincial government to stop the removal of their cabins, as ordered by the anti-encroachment cell of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. They said that previous city council had approved a unanimous resolution, during the tenure of defunct City District Government Karachi, to install cabins in all areas for providing employment. More than 1,000 cabins were installed in both towns for millions of rupees. The traders said their kiosks were being removed because they refused to pay the bribe demanded by the officers.
