Murder: Woman slaughtered in sleep
65-year-old Mardan Bibi was asleep at her dera when unknown assailants slit her throat and mutilated her body.

A woman was butchered in the Chak Jhumra police station precincts on Wednesday. According to police officials, Chak No187-RB resident 65-year-old Mardan Bibi was asleep at her dera when unknown assailants slit her throat and mutilated her body. In the morning Mardan Bibi’s children reported the crime to the police and police officials sent the body for an autopsy. Hospital officials said that Mardan Bibi had been murdered with an axe and police are waiting on DNA evidence. Police have registered a case but have yet to make any arrest.
