NBP eyes top slot among region’s banks
Regional Heads Conference convened by the NBP discussed the strategy to capture the top slot banks in the region.
KARACHI:
A strategy aimed at capturing the top slot among banks in the region within the next five years was discussed at a Regional Heads Conference convened by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
A committee has been constituted to recommend changes for the bank’s organizational structure, policies, internal control mechanisms and implementing ‘best practice’ protocols, according to a press release issued by NBP s Strategic Policy.
Addressing the convention President NBP Ali Raza says that, “NBP’s aim is to double its business in the next five years, the period which will be very good for the country as economic environment will be much more conducive.”
“NBP has been very generous with employees and now it is time to repay them by improving our service,” said Group Chief Operations Dr. Asif Brohi. He cautioned the Regional Heads to get the customer base right.
“We are the first trillion rupees institution and it has become a challenge now to remain on the top,” commented Group Chief Commercial and Retail Banking Amer Siddiqui.
