Biogas Plant: 21 farmers to get financial assistance
As many as 21 farmers of the district have been given permission to set up biogas plant on their lands.

As many as 21 farmers of the district have been given permission to set up biogas plant on their lands. These were selected in a transparent ballot. EDO (Agriculture) Sardar Muhammad Akbar Khan said the initiative was meant to help farmers become self sufficient in energy usage. He said the scheme would help offset the energy crisis. He said a plant would cost around Rs200,000. He said the government would assist the selected farmers with half of the amount fund and they would have to generate the remaining on their own. He said the plant was ideal for farmers with herds containing between 10 and 15 animal. He said a committee has been set up for inspections of these plants.
