Yellow cab scheme: LHC issues notice to Punjab government
Petitioner Hina Ehtisham has asked the court to constitute a commission to probe the matter.

The Lahore High Court has sought a reply from the Punjab government on a writ petition alleging financial irregularities in the Punjab Chief Minister’s Yellow Cab Scheme.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial, who heard the initial arguments on Monday, issued notices to the government for February 15.
Petitioner Hina Ehtisham, who was also one of the applicants, through her counsel submitted that the government had announced that it will deliver 20,000 cabs and collected about 70,000 applications for the purpose.
She added that there was a processing fee of Rs3,500 while Rs10,000 were taken in advance for a cab.
Ehtisham alleged that there were gross financial irregularities in the scheme and prayed to the court to constitute a commission to probe the matter.
