Train The Trainer: Programme to produce better teachers

The four day event included forty college professors from around Pakistan.

PESHAWAR: The first ever national train the trainer program for an associate’s degree in education for college teachers concluded at the University of Peshawar on Thursday. The four day event, jointly organized by Institute of Education and Research and Pre Service Teacher Education included forty college professors from around Pakistan. The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Prof. Azmat Hayat Khan. Khan described the professional teaching qualification as a key towards producing the best teachers. He said that teachers play an integral role in shaping the behavior of students, and that is why they are respected in our society. The University of Peshawar plans to establish a teaching training academy in the near future in order to streamline, imparting quality education to students, the Vice Chancellor added. Director of the Institute of Education and Research, Prof. Arbab Khan Afridi, said that with the help of Pre Step, curriculum for both the degree courses has been finalized.
