Measles vaccine purchase: Top official removed for opposing boss
Government transferred Interprovincial Coordination Secretary due to a rift between the secretary and his minister
ISLAMABAD:
The government on Wednesday transferred Interprovincial Coordination Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, allegedly due to a rift between the secretary and his minister over the purchase of measles vaccine. Agha Hasnain Moosavi has replaced him. This was revealed by sources privy to the matter on condition of anonymity. Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) National Programme Manager Dr Altaf Bosan will also be replaced before the end of the week with Dr Zahid Larak, an officer handpicked by Interprovincial Coordination Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani, the sources said, adding that both changes are meant to facilitate the approval of measles and polio vaccines.
