Nation deserves to know the truth about what really happened 13 years ago, says petitioner.

Express January 18, 2012

LAHORE: A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday seeking formation of a judicial commission to probe the 1999 Kargil incident.

Advocate Rana Ilamuddin Ghazi filed this petition and submitted that the nation deserves to know the truth about what really happened 13 years ago.

Ghazi said that then prime minister Nawaz Sharif refused to accept responsibility while then army chief Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf held him responsible for stopping the war.

The petitioner prayed that the court order the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the issue.

The LHC has asked the lawyer to come up with strong arguments for his petition.
