Bridging the Divide: Girls school in Pindi gets renovated

Students at the Government Girls School in Kothan Kalan, Rawalpindi will go to a new school on Wednesday. The entire furniture was replaced and new fittings were installed. The inaugural ceremony of the renovated classrooms took place on Monday, said a press release issued by Roots School System, DHA 1 on Tuesday.
The project is a part of ongoing activities of Liberating the Girl Child Foundation (LGCF). LGCF aims to give every child the best start in life and to open the doors of literacy and education for all the children of Pakistan, especially those from rural areas, said the press statement.
The idea was conceived and developed by Neha Omair when she was in seventh grade. The foundation has several international members with 10 global ambassadors, who are generating awareness in their communities about the importance of young girls’ education in Pakistan.
At the ceremony, Roots School System Founder Riffat Mushtaq encouraged Roots’ students to show compassion towards the underprivileged section of the society. National Commission for Human Development Chairperson Dr Nafisa Shah also appreciated the efforts put up by the students of Roots School System, DHA1 campus, and encouraged them to do more to bridge class differences.
