QUETTA: Police on Friday detained 50 suspects for questioning in connection with the kidnapping of a British employee of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Health programme manager Khalil Rasjed Dale, a British national, was on his way home from work in a clearly-marked ICRC vehicle when he was abducted some 200 metres away from his residence in the Chaman Housing Scheme in Quetta. Police carried out raids in different areas of the provincial capital on Friday and detained 50 suspects for questioning. However, law enforcing agencies have failed to find any clues to the whereabouts of Dale. A case was also registered in Bijli Road police station, Quetta, on Friday. According to the ICRC website, the organisation will continue its humanitarian work in Pakistan despite the incident.
