ISLAMABAD:

Non-teaching staff working in model colleges demanded regularisation of their services in accordance to the government’s decision on Monday.

Approximately 420 staff members working on daily wages and working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) are waiting for the regularisation of their services. Islamabad Model Colleges Employees Welfare Association (EWA) President Muhammad Aftab Abbasi said the decision to regularise all government employees was announced in a cabinet meeting in June 2010.

Despite various ministries and departments regularising their workforce, non-teaching staff is still awaiting such a move, being forced to survive on meagre monthly salaries. Abbasi claimed that a list of 420 daily wage non-teaching staff lies with the Capital Administration and Development Division but officials have not alerted the Establishment Division.
