RAWALPINDI: A man on death row was found dead in Adiala Jail on Tuesday evening under mysterious circumstances. Jail authorities said the inmate, Mudassir Shah, 25, was found unconscious in his cell at about 5pm. He was taken to the jail’s hospital but the doctors were unable to revive him. They said that he suffered from a heart attack and died as he was not able to receive timely medical attention. However, inmate’s father, Fayyaz Shah, disagrees. He claims that his son died of hypothermia after being subjected to severe cold temperature in the jail. He said there was no heating available for his son. Media Superintendent Adiala Jail Mohsin Rafique said the body will be handed over to his family after medical examination in the presence of a judicial magistrate.
