Irfan Ghauri, Senior Reporter-The Express Tribune Islamabad, says the miltary has other options besides a coup. One such option previously discussed was a Bangladesh style technocrat government.
While talking about ties of the military with politcal parties, Ghauri says there is a clear shift in policy of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to have a cordial relationship with them.

Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah. In the light of this army's key officials our leaders must have to correct, exact and remove their demerits, faults and corruption from the key departments of Pakistan especially related to memogate,NRO,Pakistan's and its nation's economical conditions,Pakistan's internal and external security threats and never take this statement lightly especially if they want to complete present government's tenure successfully
@MarkH: I would say it differently----If a civilian govenment is doing its job properly military would not even think of a takeover.
As mentioned last night in a popular TV show aired on GEO at 2200 hors, the host; Kamran Khan interviewed Mr. Aitzaz Ahsan who said explicitly that it was the army that restored the apex judiciary and not the PPP government.
This was told by noine other than General Kayani to Mr. Nawaz Sharif after which the lawyers march was buttressed by more popular support. So there is no reason why the army will not obey the Supreme Court. It has already twice replied to the Supreme Court whereas the President has not. So who is obeying the law? Obviously, the army.
Finally, we can bury the coup and coup rumors once and for all. Talk of a promising tomorrow for Pakistan and what are our plans to make it a bright, sunny and energetic nation. Salams
@sam: If the military is doing their job properly a military coup won't even be talked about as an option in passing.
Mr. Ghauri, what a sound advise!
You just qualified yourself a Technocrat.
Congratulations!
if judiciary doing its job properly there will be no military coup.
