LAHORE: Beaconhouse National University will host its sixth convocation here on Saturday, December 10, at its Tarogil campus.
A total of 243 students are scheduled to receive their degrees at the ceremony, which will be presided over by Governor Sardar Latif Khosa. He will hand bachelors degrees to 165 students and masters degrees to 78.
The 2011 graduating batch includes 56 students from the School of Visual Arts and Design, 52 from the School of Media and Mass Communication, 28 from the School of Liberal Arts, 26 from the Institute of Psychology, 25 from the School of Architecture, 22 from the School of Social Sciences, 18 from the School of Education and 16 from the School of Computers and IT.
The governor will also award gold medals to 18 distinction holders, 15 of which are female students, in recognition of their academic excellence.
This year the valedictorian speaker will be Syeda Ayesha Noor from the Masters in Clinical Psychology programme, who has the highest grade point average amongst the graduates of all BNU schools. BNU Vice Chancellor Sartaj Aziz, former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri and members of the BNU Board of Governors will also attend the convocation.
