Murder: Man kills wife over minor dispute

A dispute over gold ornaments between a couple claimed a woman’s life after her husband fired at her

ABBOTABAD:

A dispute over gold ornaments between a couple claimed a woman’s life after her husband fired at her during a heated argument in Mirpur union council, Abbottabad on Monday.

The police quoted Samina as saying that her sister Nagina, 32, was married to Abrar, an employee of a private firm, 11 years ago and the couple had three daughters and two sons.

On Monday, Samina confronted her husband for selling her jewellery without her consent, saying that she had kept the jewellery for her daughters’ dowries.

During the quarrel, Abrar allegedly took out a 30-bore pistol and shot his wife and fled, injuring her seriously.

She was taken to Ayub Medical Complex, where doctors pronounced her dead.

The complainant also nominated Abrar’s brothers Ashiq and Mushtaq for abetting the crime, the police added.
