Nursing Concerns: 5 patients die in Nishtar emergency ward

Five patients died in Nishtar Hospital on Friday and parents have blamed the ongoing nurses strike for the lapse in patient care. According to hospital officials, the deceased patients include 70-year-old Rasool, 47-year-old Nasreen Bibi, 40-year-old Niaz, 50-year-old Allah Data and 60-year-old Muhammad Yousuf and were brought into the emergency on Thursday night.
Nishtar Hospital medical superintendent Saeed Akbar said the emergency ward always required nurses to be on call and that the nurses had not informed the hospital about their strike on time. He said that patients were suffering greatly.
