LAHORE:

Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Friday told Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) not to use courts as a tool to destabilize or topple the PPP led coalition incumbent government.

Khosa advised them to use democratic process if they desired to come into power, saying that it was the only safe and peaceful way of doing so.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab chapter celebrated the party’s foundation day on Friday in which workers from across the Punjab participated.

Khosa lashed out at the Sharifs. He said that PPP’s leaders had sacrificed their lives for the sake of democracy but Sharifs had instead fled from the country fearing mosquitoes in jails. He said that before calling themselves Khadim-i-Awam they should sacrifice their lives.

Khosa said that to move courts was a cheap tactic. He said that Nawaz Sharif was a hypocrite and against democracy. His moving the court is evidence of his malicious intent to topple the government,e he said.

He said that Sharif had backed out from the Charter of Democracy and had even started criticising the Shaheeds of the Bhutto family. He said that Nawaz Sharif had discontinued power projects initiated by the late Benazir Bhutto that would have generated 40,000 MW electricity.

“Nawaz Sharif should refrain from destroying the country and not hold any more rallies using government’s money,” he said.

The governor said that the Sharifs could go on holding rallies attended by Police personnel, patwaris and students. He said that despite the rallies, The PPP would still win the Senate election and then go on to win the general elections.
