Workshop: Young doctors urged to learn latest techniques
Reading books and journal articles written by senior doctors and professors was the best way to broaden knowledge base

Young doctors should always stay in touch with latest research to keep their knowledge up-to-date on new diseases and their cures, Post-graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Prof Dr Tariq Salahuddin said on Sunday.
He was speaking at the concluding session of a three-day workshop on paediatrics at the PGMI.
Dr Salahuddin said reading books and journal articles written by senior doctors and professors was the best way for young doctors to broaden their knowledge base.
The workshop was attended by more than 60 Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) pediatric post-graduate students. Dr Salahuddin told the participants of the workshop that their profession required them to place their patients’ interest above everything else.
He said at PGMI their top priority was to equip students with latest knowledge and enhance their skills in accordance with the international standards.
