Judiciary must not disappoint people's expectations: LHC CJ Saeed

LHC Chief Justice says state institutions must perform within constitutional domain.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Sh Azmat Saeed on Saturday said that all state institutions have to perform within constitutional domain and that he would prefer to quit if he failed to dispense justice.

He was addressing a gathering of LHC employees of all cadres. Senior puisne judge Justice Umar Ata Bandial was also present on the occasion.

The chief justice said he has taken an oath to dispel justice without any fear or favour and will never violate the oath. He said that people had pinned high hopes on the judiciary and they should not be disappointed.

He advised the workers to conduct their duties with sincerity and try to avoid violation of law because the law will not tolerate anyone. Justice Saeed vowed to rectify the wrongs done with the employees in past.

On the occasion, LHC registrar Sohail Nasir, on behalf of the employees, congratulated Justice Saeed on becoming the chief justice and assured him that his directions will be followed in letters and spirit.

The CJ is due to address the judges of subordinate judiciary on November 20.
