Formula one: Austin circuit boss puzzled by Ecclestone
The fate of next year’s US Grand Prix in Austin depends on Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone.
ABU DHABI:
The fate of next year’s US Grand Prix in Austin depends on Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone, according to circuit president Steve Sexton after the Briton cast doubt on the Texas project. Ecclestone had earlier said that the race looked doubtful due to differences between those involved in constructing the circuit and promoting the race. However, Sexton says that he is puzzled by the comments. “There’s no question that if he wants the US Grand Prix to happen in 2012, it certainly will,” he said. “Our funding is secured, construction is on schedule, so we don’t understand Ecclestone’s comments.”
