A girl raped and killed

SIALKOT: This is with reference to your report of July 19 titled “Who would rape a four- year-old?” Our society is partly at fault for the simple reason that we seem to find nothing wrong when our sons marry girls who are 10 years younger or more. And this happens all the time in educated families — so one can imagine what kind of mindset prevails in low-income households. I remember watching on television a cleric who had been arrested by the police for marrying a nine-year-old girl and he unashamedly said that there was nothing wrong in this. How could the child even have given consent?
