Istanbul Conference: MQM chief congratulates president

Zardari praises Altaf for holding a rally in Karachi in support of the government.

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain congratulated President Asif Ali Zardari on the success of the conference in Istanbul, according to a statement issued from the MQM’s London secretariat. In return, Zardari praised Altaf for holding a rally in Karachi in support of the government and the democratic setup at large. He said the MQM was playing a vital role in strengthening democracy and helping the government to move forward at a crucial time.
