Foolproof security for BB's anniversary

Home Minister Zia-ul Hasan Lanjar on Friday reviewed the security situation ahead of the 18th martyrdom anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Attendees at the meeting included Larkana's DIG and SSP, and other senior administration officials.

The SSP briefed the home minister on comprehensive security arrangements in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Naudero, and adjoining areas. As many as 8,500 police personnel have been deployed, with additional manpower provided by the Central Police Office, he added. Female officers, including Rapid Response Force teams, have also been assigned. The briefing highlighted ongoing sweeping and clearance of central thoroughfares, VVIP routes, public meeting venues, and the mausoleum. Night vision cameras have been permanently installed at key locations, while police posts have been refurbished and fully activated.
