Burnt Down: House, two shops gutted

Resident saw men setting fire to the straw that was stored at his house for his cattle.

MANSEHRA:
Two villagers allegedly set a house and two shops on fire in Jabbar Gali village of Shinkiari on Thursday night, destroying valuables worth Rs2 million. Shufaida Khan said he had returned home at around midnight when he saw Muhammad Khalid and Muhammad Ashraf setting fire to the straw that was stored at his house for his cattle. He said he tried to stop them, upon which they opened fire at him, forcing him to seek shelter at his neighbour’s house. He said the fire completely burnt down his house and his belongings, adding that two adjoining grocery shops were also gutted during the fire. According to the complainant, the total loss is estimated to be around Rs2 million. The police have registered a case against the suspects and started investigations.
