HYDERABAD: Three people, identified as eight-year-old Hasnain, Irshad Jatoi and Allah Wario Jatoi, were injured when a man named Salim Qureshi forced his way inside their apartment in Doctor’s Square and opened fire at them on Thursday.

Qureshi allegedly attacked his father-in-law Allah Wario when the latter refused to give Qureshi the jewellery presented to Allah Wario’s step daughter, Anila, by Qureshi’s family. Qureshi claimed that his father-in-law had been the one to initiate the fight by attacking him. Allah Wario said that Qureshi had forced entry into the apartment and tried to rob him and his family.

When neighbours intervened by opening fire on Qureshi, he panicked and held the Jatoi family hostage. The police arrived and took Qureshi into custody. A case was also registered against the accused.

According to sources, Anila had divorced Qureshi and had married a man named Aziz. She later divorced him and engaged in another relationship. Her first husband Qureshi had allegedly visited his father-in-law’s house to retrieve the jewellery given to Anila by his family at their wedding.
