Kidnapped Lyari don’s nephews found dead

KARACHI: The bodies of two nephews of Lyari gangster Razzaq ‘Commando’ were found from the Heera Shah graveyard, Mauripur on Thursday after they were kidnapped Monday night.

Police said that Anis Abdul Hameed, 25, and Abdul Basit, 20, the son of Faqir Muhammad, had been shot dead execution-style: in their heads and chests with their hands tied behind their backs.

SHO Agha Shamshad said that the killing was part of the Lyari gang war. The victims were residents of Bismillah Chowk, Chakiwara. “From the conditions of the body, it looked like they were killed on Wednesday,” he said.

The relatives of the victims did not lodge an FIR on their own. The police said they received a message from them that it was a personal matter and they would resolve the issue on their own. However, the police went ahead and lodged an FIR on behalf of the State against unidentified murderers.

The body of Jalil, Commando’s brother, was found on Tuesday. He was abducted along with the two nephews from Chakiwara Monday night, police said. Eidgah SHO Hasan Haider believes Jalil and his two nephews were killed in reaction to the targeting of two Lyari Peoples Peace Committee members a day earlier. These members, Abdul Sattar and Abdul Salam, were found wrapped in a cloth from a school in Mawach Goth.
