The wife of an inspector of the Pakistan Rangers has gone to court, alleging that she is being harrassed to leave their official residence before the permitted time limit.
On Wednesday, a division bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi ordered the director-general of the Pakistan Rangers to hear out Nasreen Iqbal and settle the matter. She is married to Inspector Muhammad Iqbal and runs a school in Surjani Town.
Earlier on, Iqbal’s lawyer submitted that even though the Rangers legal representative Zia Arif Janjua had assured a court that she would not be harrassed, the problem persisted. The family was mentally tortured by threatening calls at odd hours by the Rangers deputy director Zafar Iqbal, Lieutenant Colonels Mehmood Shah and Shoaib Asim. The bench warned that if the matter is not settled contempt of court proceedings could be initiated.
