RAWALPINDI: The Civil Lines police have arrested a suspected robber, who had fled from prison four months ago. According to the police, Amjad was arrested on charges of robbery and theft along with eight accomplices in June. However, he managed to escape from police custody. The police said Amjad had worked as a close aide of Ahad alias Toti, a proclaimed offender who was killed in crossfire with the police a few years back. His gang had committed three robberies in a single day in Rawalpindi, while they had also looted Inspector General Punjab’s nephew at gunpoint, the police added. Station House Officer Raja Musaddaq has confirmed Amjad’s arrest. Meanwhile, Mouhammad Younas lodged a complaint with the same police station that his Suzuki Bolan (RIA-1769) had been stolen.
