Visually impaired Hafiz-e-Quran dies after falling into pit

KARACHI:

 A 35-year-old visually impaired Hafiz-e-Quran died after falling into a deep pit at an under-construction building in Nazimabad No. 3 on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hassan, son of Hameeduddin.

His father said Hassan had married two months ago and worked in the computer field. He had left home on Saturday morning to buy breakfast when he accidentally fell into the pit.

An exposed steel reinforcement bar inside the excavation pierced him, causing his death.

The victim's father alleged that no safety barriers had been installed around the excavation site and demanded justice from the authorities.
